At age 65, you might think former senator and presidential candidate, Fred Thompson, would be ready to slow down and save his strength. After all, he has a hot wife who's 23 years his junior and it's pretty obvious old Fred hasn't been hitting the yoga studio and fruit bar with any sort of consistency. No, according to Reuters, he's ready to go back to work as an actor; a job we all know is the closest thing to being a politician anyway.
To his credit, Thompson has some chops. His resume isn't spectacular over the last 20 years but it's definitely respectable. Roles such as those in 'Die Hard 2' and 'In the Line of Fire' help round out his television work which included 6 seasons on 'Law & Order'. So Thompson knows what he's doing. He recently signed with the William Morris Agency, a talent group.
If you ask anyone, Thompson loves to work - in acting, that is. As a senator his reputation for straight up lazy-ness is a matter of Congressional lore. So, perhaps acting is the best environment for him. It appears he's not having as much fun at home as we might think. Either that or old Fred has found a new work ethic; one that involves star pampering, all day lunch buffets, gorgeous co-workers, and sweet paychecks. Hey, he could always go back to being a lobbyist.
