Prison Wedding For Remy Ma

Grammy-nominated rapper Remy Ma faces up to 25 years in prison for shooting a friend she accused of stealing $3,000.  But that's not stopping her from planning her wedding.

Ma is currently being held at Rikers Island in New York while she awaits her April 23 sentencing hearing.   She and rapper Papoose will marry at the prison.  Only two guests are allowed at the ceremony.

Her lawyer Ivan Fisher told Reuters: "They're very committed to each other, and had intended to marry one way or another."

Weddings are fairly common at Rikers; chaplains there marry about 200 couples a year. 

Some bloggers don't get why she's doing this - after all, they may not be able to actually BE together for 25 years.  But consider this:  if they're married he can probably more easily handle her business for her, and they are also entitled to - ahem - conjugal visits.   On the other hand, most marriages in general don't last 25 years, so who knows.   Either way I genuinely wish them luck!
