Jessica Alba Sporting A Huge Rock!

Photobucket

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren opted for a quiet wedding last week.   Courthouse ceremonies are good for one thing in particular, and that's saving money.   Especially if you are planning to purchase a ring like the one Jessica's now sporting!

Holy cow, I thought Ashlee Simpson's ring was big.  Way to go, Cash Warren!  You done good!

Jessica and Cash are expecting a baby girl this summer.

Happy Birthday Kingston Rossdale!

Photobucket

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale threw a party fit for a two-year old king for son Kingston this weekend at their Beverly Hills home.

The guest list included some of the most famous Hollywood kids du jour, including Harlow Madden, Max Bratman and Cruz Beckham.  They were kind enough to bring their parents to the party too!

Gossip Girls reports:

All afternoon, the guests enjoyed the rented inflatable jump room, as well as some small farm animals at the petting zoo.

The only A-list baby missing was Suri Cruise.  Do the Cruises hang with the Rossdales?

The Cult Honored In Las Vegas

Photobucket

Am I ever on a 1980s music roll here or what?  One of my favorite bands EVER, The Cult, now have a whole display case dedicated to their memorabilia at the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas.

Is this a big deal?  I'm not sure.  I mean a lot of bands have their stuff hung up on the walls of the Hard Rock.  But I'm pleased to see a very deserving band honored.   I wore out my cassette tape of Love back in the day, listening to it over and over until I think my mom wanted to throw it out the window.  And you know it was all about 'She Sells Sanctuary.'  Check it out:

Madonna: Love It Or Hate It?

Photobucket

I find myself in this dilemma with many a red carpet dress, and here I am again:  I just don't know what to make of this dress.

On one hand, I love the beading.  Or is that the fabric?  I can't tell.  Anyway, it's great.  And although I hated the two-toned effect at first, the more I look at it, the more I like it.  I even like the flapper fringe.

On the other hand, this dress either needs to either have sleeves or not have sleeves.  It would look fine, if a bit mature, with sleeves.  It would look fantastic with just the modest shoulder strap.  But this fence-sitting business doesn't work at ALL.  It's just adds too much busy in a dress with a lot going on already.  And the belt just seems like an afterthought - it doesn't match anything, and looks way too casual for a red carpet.

So help me decide... love, hate, or just - eh?

Christina Aguliera Is Amused By Her Nursing Boobs

Photobucket

Christina Aguilera has revealed her bra size to Us Magazine.

"It's kind of hilarious! I've never fit into an E-cup before,"

E?  That's big, but not THAT big.  I worked in a specialty lingerie shop when I was in college, and we stocked bras as big as a 46G!  You could carry around a basketball in one of those things.   I once helped fit a woman in a FFF.  I was traumatized for weeks afterwards!

Anyway, I'm sure Jordan Bratman is happy... not to mention baby Max....

Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt Fight Over Baby Names

Photobucket

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt look like a happy family in Cannes, but reports say that that might just be a front!  Rumors abound that the couple are arguing over what to name the twin buns Angelina is cooking in the oven.

Evidently Angie wants to name the babies Castor and Pollux.  For those who haven't kept up on their ancient mythology, these are the twins for whom the astrological sign Gemini is named.  She's a Gemini, so that probably makes some kind of logical sense someway, no?

Brad isn't happy with this choice, though.  He has "
put his fatherly foot down because he doesn’t want his little girl with a name that sounds like a British cuss word."  For those who haven't kept up on their British slang (that would be me), the word they're referring to is "bollocks," which means balls (thanks Wikipedia!).

Now this is the point where celebrity rumors start to get just plain silly in my opinion.  How about leaving it at, Brad Pitt doesn't want his girl babies given boy names, which could very well be true?  But no, someone had to take it a couple of steps further into the realm of the ridiculous.    Either way, these kids are going to end up with some strange names, so maybe in the end Castor and Pollux aren't so bad after all?

George Takei To Marry

Photobucket

The rush of same-sex marriages in California continues!  First Ellen and Portia, now Captain Sulu!  George Takei, aka Captain Sulu on the original Star Trek series, has announced his plan to marry his partner Brad Altman.   From his blog:

Our California dream is reality. Brad Altman and I can now marry. We are overjoyed! At long last, the barrier to full marriage rights for same-sex couples has been torn down. We are equal with all citizens of our state!

The California Supreme Court further ruled that our Constitution provides for equal protection for all and that it cannot have marriage for one group and another form - domestic partnership - for another group. No more "separate but equal." No more second-class citizenship. Brad and I are going to be married as full citizens of our state.

With time, I know the opposition to same sex marriage, too, will be seen as an antique and discreditable part of our history. As U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy remarked on same sex marriage, "Times can blind us to certain truths and later generations can see that laws once thought necessary and proper, in fact, serve only to oppress."

For now, Brad and I are enjoying the delicious dilemma of deciding where, when, and how we will be married. Marriage equality took a long time, but, like fine wine, its bouquet is simply exquisite.

This brought tears to my eyes!  After more than 20 years together, he and Brad can finally marry.  I'm so thrilled for them, and everyone else who right now is enjoying that same "delicious dilemma."   Congratulations!
