Christie Brinkley-Peter Cook Divorce Update
Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook are bitter, bitter people. She got her wish for their divorce proceedings to be open to the public (for which I believe the judge should be removed from the bench), but that's not enough. These two can't stop throwing poo at each other like so many, dare I say it, monkeys in the zoo.
Much like boxers before a fight, the parties have trash talked their way through every interview.
Of Brinkley's testimony in court on Thursday, Cook said: "Shrek was more believable than that." Brinkley's lawyer retorted, "For him to have made that statement is among the most outrageous things I have heard from anybody in the 40 years I have been doing this. He should be ashamed of himself."
The trial shifts to the issue of custody of the couple's two children, Sailor and Jack, when it resumes on Monday, and things are expected to get even worse. Again, the attorneys; first up, Cook's shark:
"I think it's pretty clear she's doing this out of revenge," he told reporters. Later he said, "during the custody case you're going to find out how angry she was. There's an independent doctor who was appointed in this case. He said she was boinkered by anger."
Brinkley's lawyer countered to PEOPLE, "I still don't understand why we have to go through this. I guess this is what (Cook) wants."
Despite all the nasty, or perhaps in an effort to make herself appear less so, Brinkley had magnanimous words for her husband's teenage mistress:
"I'd just like to say after two days of testimony that I can't help but think about Diana Bianchi, and I want her and her family to know that I feel really badly for them," said Brinkley. "I feel bad for her and I forgive her completely."
Could she possibly be any more condescending? The best thing to do in these situations whether you are a celebrity or not is to just stay quiet - that way nothing you say can come back and bite you in the ass!
