Last Night's Greys: Just.... Eh.

Photobucket

After all the hogging of the remote and shushing poor slave2celeb every time he made a peep, you'd think that I'd be making a more enthusiastic response to the return episode of Grey's Anatomy last night.

But no.

The contest thing was just silly, and it made all of them act their worst.  Was that the point?  I wanted to smack Izzie (poor Cheech!), but that's nothing new - I always want to smack Izzie.  The whole thing made Christina look like a fawning suck-up, but that's also nothing new.  As for the glitter sparkle pager prize.... no comment.

And what did I miss that Lexi and George moved in together into a hovel?  I get that he doesn't want to live at Meredith's house (with Izzie) anymore, but why is Lexi not living at her dad's house?

Things I liked:  Callie calling Christina out for being a fawning suck-up, and the growing relationship between Rose and Shepherd.  And surprisingly, Meredith's reluctance to actually talk at the therapist's.  That was very true to her character.

I'm giving them a pass for this episode because it was their first time out since the writer's strike.  They were probably all rusty,  having spent several weeks doing nothing  but eating out, shopping and smoking *cough*Katherine Heigl*cough*.  I expect them to be back on their game by the next episode!

Grey's Anatomy Is Back TONIGHT!

Photobucket

I feel like I'm Amy Winehouse finding a crumb of crack on the floor after a long dry spell....  Grey's Anatomy is back with new episodes tonight!

After MONTHS without any new Grey's, the buzz surrounding its return is strong.  We read that Shonda

is blabbing away about how Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) are getting back together "for good."

As for George and Izzie (WORST. IDEA. EVER), "they're probably done as lovers."    And Callie?  Supposedly becomes BFFs with Erica Hahn, of all loathed people.

The story picks up after a six-week break, which makes sense.  I appreciate them for acknowledging that time has passed (grumble grumble writers strike that I supported but that caused me to miss my show grumble grumble).

E! Online has sneak peeks from tonight's episode here, but I refuse to watch them and spoil it for myself.

I dunno about y'all, but come 9:00 pm I'm going to have my butt firmly planted on the couch, remote in hand, well out of reach from slave2celeb, so he can't try to change the channel during commercials and cause me to miss stuff.

Hooray for Grey's!

Can I Help? Pretty Please?

Photobucket

Katherine Heigl is ASKING to be whacked!

OK, maybe that was a bit dramatic.  Actually, she's suggesting that Grey's Anatomy producers  kill off Dr. Izzie Stevens and let her out of her contract.  Katherine is SO EXCITED about the "success" of her new C+ movie 27 Dresses that she thinks now is the time to exit TV and focus solely on her movie career.   She doesn't want to be known "just as a television star."

Shonda Rimes, I beg of you, please please please do it.   In fact, let me help!  I love Grey's, but I can't stand Izzie Stevens.  She grates on my nerves so,  Everytime she opens her mouth I cringe.  She's clearly only on the show for eye candy and to be the sweeps week whore.  She killed Denny!  She broke up George and Callie and now can't even have sex with him.  And then Shonda let me down by not having Callie kick her ass all over Seattle Grace!    For the love of all that is holy, at least let me see the bitch get her ass kicked!

And if you won't do that, Shonda, then LET HER GO and make all the mediocre romantic comedies she wants to.   I hate 98% of romantic comedies, so my chances of involuntarily seeing her on screen will be greatly diminished.    And then those of you who like her (and/or romantic comedies) will be happy!  What a win-win!
