Jamie Lynn Spears Wedding Plans Announced

OK! Magazine must be treating Jamie Lynn Spears pretty well, because they keep getting exclusive scoops on her business.  Now they reveal her plans to wed fiance-slash-baby daddy Casey Aldridge by the end of the year, probably this fall.

The probable venue?  Her very own home on three acres in Liberty, Mississippi. 

"She loves everything about the area where she lives. She's not going to get married at some luxury resort in the Caribbean or a hotel in Beverly Hills," a friend of the bride-to-be tells OK!. "Her own backyard with just the people who matter most is more Jamie Lynn's style."

Of course, big sis Britney Spears will be her Jamie Lynn's maid of honor, and Casey's sister Ashlee will be one of her bridesmaids. And tiny toddler Maddie will be an integral part of the wedding — possibly in a basket decorated with flowers and carried into the ceremony by the bride and groom's mothers.

Of course, Maddie, born just last month, unless found to be superhuman between now and then, will hardly be a "toddler" by the time of the wedding, since that word generally implies the ability to walk.   

Anyway, I think Jamie Lynn and Casey are doing the right thing by at least trying.  I'm sure that OK! will bring us "exclusive" pictures just as soon as they say "I do."

Happy Birthday Jamie Lynn Spears

Yay, Jamie Lynn Spears won't be a 16 year old mother after all!  She'll be a 17 year old mother!

Here she is with fiance Casey Aldridge leaving a Mississippi JC Penney.  She looks more and more like Britney all the time.  He looks like he just got off work, which is a good sign, in my opinion, that he intends to support his kid and not rely on Jamie Lynn's money. 

Nonetheless, every time I see a picture of her these days, "Papa Don't Preach" rises up from the depths of my brain.  And I don't even bother trying to stop it, because it would probably only be replaced with something worse, most likely Milli Vanilli.

Jamie Lynn Spears Getting Hitched?

Despite rumors of:

1. their break-up;
2. Lil Romeo being the culprit who knocked her up;
3. Casey being possibly charged with statutory rape;
4. Jamie Lynn giving up the baby for adoption;
5. and possibly even alien abductions and sightings of Jesus Christ in a bowl of Fruit Loops .... 

It appears that Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge are engaged.  People reports that the 16 year old star of Zoey 101 has been seen showing off a diamond ring to "friends and family around Louisiana and Mississippi."   She is due with their baby this summer.

She bought him a truck earlier this year, so an engagement ring is the least he could do, right?

On a serious note, I know the odds are 873.6% against them, but I am kind of rooting for them here.  I think it's a good sign that they're planning to get married.  It might sound old fashioned, but I think that he's doing the honorable thing by marrying her.  And it would be novel, yes, but also really, really good if Jamie Lynn bucked the Spears' family trend and managed to pull together a happy, healthy life.   Only time will tell, I guess.
