Still Trying Too Hard: Jessica Simpson Gushes About Tony Romo

Jessica Simpson increasingly sounds like someone who is trying to convince everyone that she's in a good relationship.  No, really, it's a good one!  Swear to god!   She swooned to People:

"Tony [Romo] is a great quarterback, but he's a better boyfriend...I'm seriously proud of myself for letting him into my life...Through all the chaos and torment and everything I go through, I can lay in his arms and finally rest."

Yeah, he's a great boyfriend because he didn't break up with you after you jinxed him in your stupid pink Cowboys jersey!  (I'm not a Cowboys fan, I just thought that was kind of hilarious.  Sorry, Dallas.) These two remind me a lot of Speidi's ridiculously staged romance, but at least I'm pretty sure they're totally faking it, and they know everyone knows it, so they camp it up even more.  Jessica and Tony though... I know I keep saying this, but I do continue to wonder how much of this is scripted by her dad.

Just How Old Is Jessica Simpson Again?

Like, 12?  Maybe that's giving her too much credit.   Jessica Simpson apparently loves Tony Romo so much that she uses the Dallas Cowboy's theme song as her cell phone ring tone. 

An innocent bystander in a Chicago bar told OK! Magazine:

“Jess’s girlfriend was teasing her because it kept ringing with her boyfriend’s team’s tune.”

And I would too.   

I wonder if she changed her ring tone after Tony revealed that she is in his top three iPod picks?    Or maybe she's trying to legitimize herself and her country music "career"?  Or perhaps she's trying to make me throw up?

Jessica Simpson: "John Mayer Cherished Our Love"

Jessica Simpson recently spilled to Elle on a bunch of stuff, including her relationship with John Mayer, even though they've been broken up for over a year.  She waxed uber-cheesy with comments like this:

"John believed in the Jessica Simpson that's within. He cherished our love. He helped make me the woman I am today. John is going to be an amazing man for someone, but I know that I was supposed to be with someone else."

She sounds like she's still a little too attached to him, if you ask me... not unlike the lasting attachment John's current squeeze Jennifer Aniston reportedly still has for Brad Pitt.  Why does John Mayer attract these needy women, I wonder?

Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson Split!

Tony Romo partied like a rock star with college friends in Chicago this weekend, and reportedly revealed to his friends that he and Jessica Simpson have split!   Said a buddy:

“They’re broken up.  He told us they broke up and that was that.  We’re guys so we didn’t talk about it much.”

Romo enjoyed the ladies' attention everywhere he went on Saturday night.  An eyewitness said at one bar:

“He was surrounded by girls.  We had to restrain some who forcibly tried to make their way to his table.”

The evening ended at the Manor Nightclub, where the "bevy of beauties" hanging out in the VIP section were not enough for Romo and his friends.  They supposedly "sent the nightclub’s bus to pick up more girls from the Hard Rock Hotel where Romo and his friends were crashing."

Hmmmm.... what to make of this news. I'm wondering if Jessica dumped HIM because she's pissed that Ashlee is tying the knot before she could get remarried.... and/or that Ashlee is supposedly going to have a baby before Jessica.  Or maybe it's all a big publicity stunt engineered by Papa Joe!  Which would not surprise me in the least.

Jessica Simpson Debuts New Film In Kuwait

Jessica Simpson is in Kuwait performing for the troops as part of a live webcast concert called Operation MySpace.  I don't really understand this event at all, but I'm glad the troops are getting some attention and awareness.  Although I'm wondering what the locals think of Jess' co-stars The Pussycat Dolls' costumes (or lack thereof).  I know what I thought of them the first time I saw them, and 'tweren't nothing flattering.

The really interesting part of this story is that she's not only in Kuwait to shake it and sing - she's apparently also debuting her new movie, Major Movie Star.   Who debuts a movie in the Middle East?  Someone whose last movie made $384 its opening night and a total U.S. box office of $5,561, that's who.

You're no actress, Jessica.  Give it up already!  Or at least stop making American movies and move to the Ukraine, where they apparently love you and your bad films.
