Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon Continue To Disgust

Mariah Carey appears on the cover of Elle this month, and she talks with them about - what else? - her wedding to Nick Cannon.   The way these two go on, you'd think no one else ever got married before, much less her.  Oops, did I say that? 

So she tells the magazine all about the vomiticious way Nick proposed to her:

Cannon’s first proposal took place on Carey’s roof in Manhattan a couple of evenings prior and involved the hiding of a 17-carat diamond ring inside a candy ring pop.

[A few days later] “He sort of kidnapped me and took me on a helicopter ride,” she says. “Then he re-proposed.”

They only dated for like 10 minutes before they got married!  How did he have time to propose twice? 

Mariah says that her husband "literally came to her rescue."  Yep, that's healthy.  I give this marriage six months!

Mariah Carey And Nick Cannon MARRIED!

The celebrity blogosphere is all abuzz with reports that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon married this week on a trip to the Bahamas.   Gabby Babble dishes that the two got hitched in a "secret ceremony in front of family and friends at Mariah's house in Eleuthera." 

Latina.com claims their sources say that the wedding was "very impulsive," and "there was no pre-nup -- there wasn't enough time."  However, there was evidently enough time for Nick to purchase a honker of a rock for his new missus - Jacob & Co Jewelers have confirmed that they designed the $2.5M ring.  In Touch Magazine quotes the jeweler:

“It has a square, emerald-cut, fancy light pink diamond as the center stone that is 10 carats.  It is surrounded by 58 pink diamonds, with two half-moon diamonds on each side.”

You read that right, kids.  The girl is walking around with TWO POINT FIVE MILLION CLAMS on her FINGER.  Her hand is now worth more than the entire GDP of several small nations.   

Welp, good luck to them.  You know how well weddings generally work out after one whole month of courtship? 

Yeah, that's what we thought too.

New Celebrity Couple - Mariah Carey And Nick Cannon!

Pardon me if I'm late to this party, but I just saw this on BV Buzz:  Mariah Carey and (cute) rapper Nick Cannon have been dating for a couple of weeks now!

The pair were seen a couple of weekends ago in Las Vegas celebrating Da Brat's birthday. 

The couple arrived in a private jet and went straight to Privé Las Vegas at Planet Hollywood, where Cannon was deejaying that night. Onlookers said the pair looked cozy while being escorted through the club.

At one point during the night, the 'Wild N Out' star spun Jay-Z's 'Public Service Announcement' and sang along with the lyrics, "I got the hottest chick in the game." The newly svelte Carey stood and raised her wine glass.

Mariah and Nick met while working together on a video for her new album, E=MC2.   Sources say that Nick was supposed to only make a cameo, but Mariah quickly promoted him to video director.  Apparently their 11 year age difference didn't stand in the way of their getting to know each other rather well from there!

 

Nick, who recently split with ex-fiancee model Selita Ebanks, previously dated Christina Milian.  Mariah broke up with singer Luis Miguel in 2001.  She divorced Tommy Mottola in 1993.

I would never have put these two together, but you never know - so I wish them well!

You Go Girl: Mariah Carey

Big ups to Mariah Carey!  No doubt she's a diva, but we're going to have to start calling her The Queen now, 'cause she just beat The King's record! 

Her latest single, "Touch My Body"  has hit number one on the  Billboard 100.  This is her 18th number one single.  She was previously tied with Elvis Presley at 17.  Next to beat:  The Beatles, who have 20 number ones.

NME.com shares:

"I really can never put myself in the category of people who have not only revolutionized music but also changed the world," Carey told the Associated Press. "That's a completely different era and time... I'm just feeling really happy and grateful."

Modest Mimi told Allure this month that she's "always had low self-esteem."  This new achievement should be just the boost she needs to build that confidence!
