Pictures of Amy Winehouse in a bikini (shudder) have been all over the internet lately, so it's likely you've seen the "Blake" emblem she has tattooed over her heart. She got the tattoo just a month after she and husband Blake Fielder-Civil started dating back in 2005.
However, now she's looking to have it removed. The Mirror reports:
She has asked pals to visit the Flamin’8 tattoo parlour in North
London, where she got some of her body art done, to ask how she can get
rid of the tacky pocket design bearing her hubby’s name.
Amy also wants to remove the tat she got on the back of her neck after she married Blakey in 2006.
Why is she doing this? Friends say that she
"wants to make a fresh start...[and] finally feels strong enough to get Blake out of her life once and for all.”
Yeaaaahhh, I'll believe they're getting divorced when I see it.
You can see a close-up of the "Blake" tattoo here.
Singer Pinkspills to Seventeen's February issue, but what she's spilling about is no surprise: her ex Carey Hart, of course.
"It's up and down," she says. "You have strong moments and you have
weak moments. But it's not just been devastating – it's been freedom,
too."
She even says she offered to give Carey away at his wedding when he marries again.
It's been nearly a year since they divorced, and they're both still talking about how much they love and miss each other, and how close they are, blah blah blah. Does anyone know why they divorced in the first place? They honestly sound like they regret it.
Singer Katy Perry and Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy have broken up, according to People.
Katy is reported to be "regrouping" since the split, and was "in a great mood" as she performed a New Year's Eve show. McCoy, however, shared his less-than-positive feelings on his blog the same day:
...he posted lyrics to hip-hop group Main Source's breakup song "Looking at the Front Door."
The
song includes the lines: "We fight every night, now that's not kosher/I
reminisce with bliss of when we was closer/And wake up to be greeted by
an argument again/You act like you're ten."
He followed the lyrical post with another loaded message,
declaring his devotion to his laptop: "My Laptop is my new b–. LOYAL.
LISTENS. and NEVER LET'S ME DOWN."
OK, for one thing, if he ever referred to Katy as his "bitch," she had reason enough to break up with him. For another... damn! Then again, maybe he got tired of her kissing girls?
Am I ever on a 1980s music roll here or what? One of my favorite bands EVER, The Cult, now have a whole display case dedicated to their memorabilia at the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas.
Is this a big deal? I'm not sure. I mean a lot of bands have their stuff hung up on the walls of the Hard Rock. But I'm pleased to see a very deserving band honored. I wore out my cassette tape of Love back in the day, listening to it over and over until I think my mom wanted to throw it out the window. And you know it was all about 'She Sells Sanctuary.' Check it out:
Miley Cyrus' new track, '7 Things,' has been released. This is the first single off her upcoming album. In the song she talks about the things she hates about her ex-boyfriend. Ahhh, teenage angst. So much easier to deal with than people bashing you for taking topless pictures. Oh yeah, she also says the things she likes too, so it's balanced and keeps Disney happy.
Curious about the lyrics? Here they are.
7 Things
I probably shouldn't say this But at times I get so scared When I think about the previous Relationship we shared
It was awesome but we lost it It's not possible for me, not to care And now we're standing in the rain But nothing's ever gonna change until you hear, my dear
The 7 things I hate about you The 7 things I hate about you, oh you You're vain, your games, you're insecure You love me, you like her You make me laugh, you make me cry I don't know which side to buy Your friends, they're jerks When you act like them, just know it hurts I wanna be with the one I know And the 7th thing I hate the most that you do You make me love you
It's awkward and it's silent As I wait for you to say What I need to hear now Your sincere apology When you mean it, I'll believe it If you text it, I'll delete it Let's be clear Oh I'm not coming back You're taking 7 steps here
The 7 things I hate about you You're vain, your games, you're insecure You love me, you like her You make me laugh, you make me cry I don't know which side to buy Your friends, they're jerks When you act like them, just know it hurts I wanna be with the one I know And the 7th thing I hate the most that you do You make me love you
And compared to all the great things That would take too long to write I probably should mention The 7 that I like
The 7 things I like about you Your hair, your eyes, your old Levi's When we kiss I'm hypnotized You make me laugh, you make me cry But I guess that's both I'll have to buy Your hands in mine When we're intertwined, everything's alright I wanna be with the one I know And the 7th thing I like most that you do You make me love you You do
I may be setting myself up for disappointment, but I am ridiculously excited about the new Speed Racer movie. That's why I'm so very pleased, dear readers, to bring you a preview of the music video for the movie's theme song. I thought I would hate it, but I am pretty pleased with it. Hopefully the movie won't suck!
The New York Daily News says that Beyonce's cousin Angelica told them (wait... are we in junior high here??) that Beyonce is retiring after she completes her next album.
Beyonce will "spend her days scouting talent for new hubby Jay-Z's upcoming label, The Carter Music Group."
Mmmmhmmmm. How long did Jay's "retirement" last? Three years? I always thought that was one big publicity stunt anyway. Even if she does quote unquote retire, it won't last long. Perhaps long enough to raise some little ones up for a few years. I predict Beyonce will be out there shakin' it until she's in her 60s like Tina Turner!
Peter FRAMPTON?? Some of you are so young you probably don't remember him, but he was the shiznit back in the day. When he looked like this:
Please know the only reason I posted this is that a Peter Frampton photo is just too random not to note it. Let's see if I can come up with a better reason... uhh.... *googles* oh! Peter's a birthday boy this month, on the 22nd. Happy early birthday!
Big ups to Mariah Carey! No doubt she's a diva, but we're going to have to start calling her The Queen now, 'cause she just beat The King's record!
Her latest single, "Touch My Body" has hit number one on the Billboard 100. This is her 18th number one single. She was previously tied with Elvis Presley at 17. Next to beat: The Beatles, who have 20 number ones.
"I really can never put myself in the category of people who have not only revolutionized music but also changed the world," Carey told the Associated Press. "That's a completely different era and time... I'm just feeling really happy and grateful."
Modest Mimi told Allure this month that she's "always had low self-esteem." This new achievement should be just the boost she needs to build that confidence!
C'mon....I know I'm pretty old school, but I also know I'm not the only one who jammed to Mint Condition back in the day. What R&B fan back in the early 1990s didn't love "Pretty Brown Eyes (Breakin' My Heart)"?
OK, maybe there was one or two of you, but for the rest of us.... Mint Condition is releasing its first album in three years! The album is called eLife and is on their own label, CagedBird Records. It'll be out on May 6th.
What's the secret to their longevity? Frontman Stokley Williams said:
"Our sound is an extension of the kind of music we love and Mint Condition is always going to be relevant because we don't follow trends, we believe in the integrity of our music and how it makes our fans feel."
Well amen to that! How many other bands and performers can honestly say that?
While we wait for the album release, here's the video for their big hit song to tide you over. Enjoy!
